“The fruits of your labor may not yet be visible, but they are taking root.”

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see” Hebrews 11:1
The writer of Hebrews goes on throughout this chapter to list the who’s who, or VIP list, of individuals and their stories from the Old Testament. Stories of Noah, Abraham, and others whose lives were defined by their faith, not by their qualifications. Because it was their faith in the unseen, and their obedience, that took them from ordinary to extraordinary
I don’t know about your life, but I haven’t been called by God to build a giant ark or lead a nation of people out of captivity, although, sometimes the calling of motherhood feels just as challenging. I am here to speak truth to you, and encourage you today.
The good work that you are doing - praying over your child, guiding them to Jesus, encouraging them and their relationship with a heavenly Father - can seem hard at times. It requires intentional choices, and proposed conversations when it would be easier to just take a “pass”. And when we look at ourselves and our children through such close proximity, we sometimes struggle to see the impact of each individual effort.
But hold on, momma. Have confidence in the unseen. The fruits of your labor may not yet be visible, but they are taking root. And one day, when you least expect it, God will stir their hearts. They’ll make the hard choice to seek after Him, or to lead others to Christ. It’s in those moments when God grants us the opportunity to see what we hoped and prayed for all along.
So momma, if you are waiting to see the results of that good work you’ve been doing, then have faith, be obedient, and take assurance in what is to come.
Action Steps:
Listen to “Good Plans” by Red Rocks Worship, and trust His good plan while you wait.
Let’s pray. Heavenly Father, let our faith and confidence in the unseen be a testament to Your goodness. Help us to be obedient when our perspective hinders our ability to see clearly. Allow the fruits of our lives give glory to You and Your kingdom, Lord. We love you and pray this in Your name. Amen
