The Gift of Jesus

“Jesus was sent to us by God to destroy the works of the devil and so He could reveal the Father to us so we would have eternal life.”

“I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.” John 10:9 NKJV

When you think of Christmas, what comes to your mind? The tree with all the twinkling lights, the presents, or maybe the gathering of family and friends? All these things are nice, but not the true meaning of Christmas. The true meaning is to give thanks for the one perfect gift from God. The true meaning is the celebration of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Jesus was sent to us by God to destroy the works of the devil and so He could reveal the Father to us so we would have eternal life.

It is so important to teach our children the true meaning of Christmas.

Why was Jesus sent here? Because Jesus is the only way to heaven and for us to spend eternity with Him and our Heavenly Father.

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6 NKJV

We spend our lives as mothers making sure our children are clothed and their bellies are full. We strive to make sure they are well educated and grow up to be the best human beings possible. While we’re doing all the things to take care of our children, we also need to remember to feed their souls. We need to physically feed our children, but we can't forget to feed their souls with spiritual food, the Word of God.

Reading the Bible with your children and teaching them about Jesus and our Abba Father is so important. If they don’t have Jesus in their heart, they will not have eternal life in heaven. The most precious gift you can give your child is the gift of Jesus.

A great way to teach your children about Jesus is writing scriptures on cards. Make it into a game, make it fun, and they will love learning about Jesus. Children learn so much better when it’s interesting and fun.

Enjoy your children while they are young because they grow up so fast.

Blessings and Hugs!

Action Steps

  • Brainstorm one way you can share Jesus with your kids today and then do it! (Ideas: read a scripture of something Jesus did or said, find a praise and worship playlist for kids)
