“Faith and trust go hand in hand.”

“If your faith remains strong, even while surrounded by life’s difficulties, you will continue to experience the untold blessings of God! True happiness comes as you pass the test with faith, and receive the victorious crown of life promised to every lover of God!” James 1:12 TPT
When my children were younger, in some ways, I felt it was easier to guide and control most situations. Not that I’m a control freak, but I would say that I like to be a rule follower. I don’t like the idea of disappointing or letting others down. So I would try to create and keep a structured environment based on God’s Word.
As my children grew, so did their opinions. They started making choices, some good, some not so good. They had to learn the truth for themselves. I had to learn to teach them how to have faith in God and trust Him at His word. But in all of that, I had to trust Him, that He was in control. He has them, He’s got great plans for them, He’s got great plans for us as a family to do great things for His kingdom.
Faith and trust go hand in hand. We have to trust that God has us all, and that’s what builds our faith to keep moving forward. It’s not always easy. Each season and stage of our children’s lives, and each individual child, will always be and learn differently. When we trust God, He will show us how to guide them. In scriptures, the apostle Paul shares how the Lord told him, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)
It’s okay to have struggles. It’s okay to have weak moments as long as we turn to God and allow Him to be our strength. Receive His grace, His love, and His directions. He will show us “what’s next” in how to lead and guide our blessings, our children, because they are His first. You’ve got this! We’ve got this! Because He’s got us!
Action Steps:
As you reflect over these past eight months of 2024, what are some ways you’ve trusted God at His word? What are some areas you are feeling God is wanting you to step out in faith when it comes to each one of your children?

Prayer: Father God, we thank You for Your everlasting love. We thank You for equipping us everyday with new and creative ways to raise, guide, and lead our children in You. Help us as we share our faith daily with them, that they understand and see the same ways You are there for us, You want to be there for them too! Show us new ways and give us new eyes to see Your goodness in our everyday activities. We love You and thank You Jesus! Amen!
