“You see, thriving in your season of motherhood is about leaning into God and allowing Him to mold you into the mother He’s designed you to be.”

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8 (ESV)
Motherhood Meets Faith’s topic for this month is Rooted in This Season of Motherhood where we identify the season we’re in and talk about the ways we can thrive in every single season of our motherhood.
“Every single season – thriving? HA. Girl, I’m barely surviving. You must not know my season, because it’s an absolute struggle”. I hear you, mom friend, and yes you can still thrive in your season.
Here’s what I’m not saying. I’m not saying put on a gorgeous sun dress, collect your backyard eggs, and eat your homemade sourdough bread all while smiling and saying cheese (although you absolutely can).
What I am saying is, root yourself in God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Plant your soul, heart, and mind into His nutritious life-giving unchanging soil. Why? Because the soil is forever good, like really good. It’s full of love (1 John 3:16), compassion (Psalm 103:8), goodness (Psalm 107:1), rest (Matthew 11:28), direction (Psalm 16:11), faithfulness (Psalm 119:90), comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3), correction (Hebrews 12:6), mercy (Psalm 145:8), kindness (Titus 3:4), and grace (Hebrews 4:16). This is God’s character and heart for us, and it’s forever good, supernaturally good.
You see, thriving in your season of motherhood is about leaning into God and allowing Him to mold you into the mother He’s designed you to be. He wants you and me to be fully dependent on Him – His soil. As today’s verse reminds us, He is the same yesterday and today and forever. The soil doesn’t dry up; it doesn’t go bad. It is unchanged, stable, constant, forever.
I don’t know about you, but doesn’t unchanged, stable, constant, forever sound so good in this turnover cycle of seasons? Root in God, mom friend.
Prayer: Gracious and loving Father, thank You for loving me. Thank You for being unchanged, stable, faithful, and forever in every single season. No matter how rough the season is – You are still there, holding onto me. Help my roots grow deeper and wider in Your love, character, and heart. You are so good. In Your mighty and loving name, Amen.
Action Steps:
There’s value in identifying our current season of motherhood. What season are you in?
How can we practically root ourselves in the unchanging forever soil? Talk to God about your season. Tell Him all about it – the good, bad, and ugly. He wants to hear it because He wants all of you.
What do we need most in our season? Pick one and write down the verse. Start to engrain it into the walls of your heart.
Love (1 John 3:16)
Compassion (Psalm 103:8)
Goodness (Psalm 107:1)
Rest (Matthew 11:28)

Comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3)
Correction (Hebrews 12:6)
Mercy (Psalm 145:8)
