“God's timing is the best timing!”

“We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.” Proverbs 16:9 NLT
Over the past 22 years I’ve learned to be responsible for little lives along with myself and, partly, my husband. You see, I met my husband at 19 and married him at 20. We also welcomed our first child, our son, a year later. We were babies ourselves (now that I am wiser and look back), yet we had to learn to care for our family, learn to manage a house, learn to plan for our future. We had to learn to navigate this life, even adding two more girls to our family within five years. We grew up, but in all of that short time of growing, we knew we had to rely on God through it all. Without Him, we were nothing and who knows where we would be or what choices would’ve been made. I am so thankful for such godly wisdom at a young age.
But guess what? It doesn’t stop there, at the beginning of a family. Every single day, we have to trust God’s big plan even when we don’t see it, know it, or understand the full picture at the moment. God’s timing is the best timing!
As my children entered every new stage of life, I had to learn to trust God and rely on His plan even more. I would plan things out, but when they wouldn’t work out the “way I wanted” I would be upset, feel let down and all in my feelings. I would look back and ask myself if I had allowed God to be in those plans, and we all know that answer was usually a big ol’ no!
When we allow God to have full control of our lives, He will guide us on the best paths for our families. It is so important to teach and show our children how God is in our every day and how He leads and guides. Let them be aware. Let them see how good God is and how fulfilling life can be when we allow God to have complete control. Let’s allow Him to determine our steps. His ways are always better.
Action Steps:
Reflect on areas of your life you that you need to surrender and just let Jesus take the wheel.
What are some ways you can incorporate God’s ways in your daily schedule that your children can be a part of? Ask God to for creative ways to include them in seeking Him.
Let’s pray: Heavenly Father, I thank you for always leading and guiding us on the best path. Help us as we navigate each season of our lives. Help us to always include You in it all. We ask in Jesus name, Amen.
