Known. Loved. Seen.

“The biblical reality that never changes is that God created you, loves you, likes you, and watches over you.”

“O Lord you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways.” Psalm 139:1-3

I love the points this verse touches on; they are equally deep and practical. You are known, intimately and intricately, by a father who loves every fiber of your being, and more importantly, your soul. There is nothing about you that is hidden from Him, the good, the bad, and the ugly. And He takes joy in you just the same, because you are His creation, by design.

He is aware of you, always. Other scriptures remind us that He searches our hearts, knows the words that will come out of our mouths before we say them, even our thoughts can’t be hidden from Him. And yet you are the apple of His eye. He pays attention to when you sit down and when you get up, not just morning till evening, but the intricacies of our lives. He reminds us that we don’t need to be Olympic gold medalists of moms (like we do according to our own standards) to be worthy of His watchful eye. Simply living life and being faithful to Him is what He watches. He already knows where we’re going and knows how we’ll react when we get there.

Nothing escapes His eye.

That comforts my soul. In this life, in motherhood, it can be easy to feel unseen.

It is a lie the enemy will whisper quietly in the back of your mind until you mistakenly start to accept it. But it’s simply not true. The biblical reality that never changes is that God

created you, loves you, likes you, and watches over you. Your days are not lost on Him. He is with you always, valuing your soul and anticipating the day when you are face to face. Listen to THAT whisper in your heart until you purposefully believe it, mom.

You are seen by the Father.

Always.

And till the end of time.

Action steps:

  • I’m convinced the best thing we can do to correct our understanding of something, including being seen, is to bask in the presence of God in worship and back it up with the truth of God's word.

    • Listen to “You Say” by Lauren Daigle, and “Echo” by Elevation Worship

    • Read Psalm 33:18 and Psalm 34:15
