Faith Is Confidence

“Momma, He is faithful. He will do it.”

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1

Is there really an area of life that is totally reliant on faith more than motherhood? It begins when we are given these beautiful screaming babies to tuck in car seats and walk out hospital doors just 24 hours after their exodus from the womb. We spend the first week wondering why in the world someone would do such a thing… hand me a little life without a manual or a mentor. And then we spend the next 18 years wondering every day if we are leading them the right way, loving them well, not imposing on them our bents, but leading them in who God has made them to be.

That takes faith, girl.

Every single ounce of mothering is carried out in faith. Faith that God truly has all of this in hand. Faith that Jesus truly loves them more fully than we ever could. Faith that He chose the person He meant to in making us their moms. Faith that His thoughts toward them are love and His ways for them are good.

Faith is maintaining the confidence in what Jesus has told us we can hope for, and being sure of His promises, even if we don’t yet see them taking place. Momma, He is faithful. He will do it.

And I just want to remind you how totally pleasing that faith is to God. It is more precious to Him than gold, even when it’s as small as a mustard seed. Keeping trusting Him, momma. Keep trusting He equips you. Keep trusting He holds those babies and guides their paths, just like He does ours.

Keep the faith.

Action Steps:

Prayer: Father, thank You for the gift of faith. Would You strengthen the faith You’ve already given us and grow it all the more for Your glory and our good? In Jesus beautiful name.
