Diligently Walk with Him

“This is how our faith is built, but also how our children’s faith is built!”

“And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children; and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down and when you rise.” Deuteronomy 6:6-7 ESV

The word diligent means “careful and using a lot of effort; done in a careful and detailed way”.

God is calling us as mothers to teach our children. His Word in the Bible has so many stories, yes, but there is so much life, instruction and knowledge, there to help us all along this journey of life. We need to dive in and read the Bible daily to know what His Word says, so we can take what we learn and incorporate it, model it, and teach it to our children daily.

Always talking about God’s goodness, love and care.

Always talking how He provides.

Always talking about how He helps us here and there.

Always sharing personal stories of how God has shown up in your life.

Always praying and modeling how easy it is to talk to God.

This is how our faith is built, but also how our children’s faith is built! So if we don’t know where to begin, look at Matthew 7:7. It says, “Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and it will be open to you.

Action steps:

  • Let’s ask God to give us opportunities to show our children His Word.

  • Let’s seek God in every detail of our day.

  • Let’s invite our children to share how God has been good to them.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, let us always seek to find You in everything. You are our desire. Help us to never take for granted all of life’s lessons, and help us to show our children to walk with You in all ways. We love you! Amen.
