Be Confident

“Jesus is our best friend, confidante, and helper. He supplies all our needs.”

”So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?’” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13‬:‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We live in a world of “what ifs”. Anxiety interrupts our lives and steals our joy. As moms, it can cause us to overthink, worry, and be overwhelmed.

We have so much stuff running through our minds during the day and sometimes even through the night. I am one of those moms who struggle to fall asleep at night. I lay there and think over everything that needs to be done, and all the good and bad possibilities that can come out of it… it’s exhausting! Sometimes I have to say to myself, out loud, “Stop!”. I imagine the “what ifs” instead of giving my anxieties to Jesus.

One of the most used phrases in the Bible is “Do not fear” or “Don’t be afraid”. God knew we would all struggle with this. Jesus told us not to worry about earthly things, for our treasures are in heaven.

So how do we stop being anxious? The first line of Hebrews 13:6 says it all—Be Confident! Our assurance is that if we are confident in our Jesus, we can be confident in our decisions. Loudly tell those anxieties to flee and talk to Jesus instead. He is our best friend, confidante, and helper. He supplies all our needs (Philippians 4:19).

So go about your life with confidence in Christ.

Action Steps:

  • Prayer is the key to helping our anxieties. Talk to God, not your fears.

  • Find a scripture that soothes your anxiety and memorize it so it’s always with you.

Prayer: Jesus, I come to You today with many things going through my head. As a mom, I have so many things to do and to think about and to worry about. But I know that with you on my side, I have an assurance that You will be with me. When I feel anxious, remind me to be confident and give me the peace that comes with it, knowing that You are with me.
