“Our actions can inspire our children to recognize and answer God’s call in their own lives, fostering a spirit of willingness and service.”

“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’ Then I said, ‘Here I am! Send me.’” Isaiah 6:8 ESV
This powerful moment reflects the willingness to respond to God’s call, a sentiment that resonates deeply with mothers. As you nurture and guide your children, consider how you can instill in them a willingness to serve and be responsive to God’s voice.
Mothers have a unique opportunity to model faith and obedience in everyday life. Our actions can inspire our children to recognize and answer God’s call in their own lives, fostering a spirit of willingness and service.
Responding and obeying God’s call to serve doesn’t come automatically. Responding to God’s voice is a journey for both mothers and their children. As you nurture your children, it’s essential to create an environment where they feel encouraged to explore their faith and understand their purpose.
Isaiah 6:8 highlights the importance of being open and willing to serve God. We, as mothers, can reflect Isaiah’s response by living a lifestyle that prioritizes listening to God and acting on His guidance, which is a powerful model for our children.
Action Steps:
Start empowering your children today to be attentive to God’s voice and to respond with confidence and enthusiasm, just as Isaiah did.
Pray together as a family
Serve as a family
Discuss the callings on your children’s lives. (Hint: start with their interests and discuss how they can use that to serve others) Have open-ended discussions about what it means to have a calling, and share stories of your life or the Bible.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we ask that You lift up every mother reading this devotion today. May they feel Your love for them as they guide their children toward You. We thank You, Lord, for the great pleasure You have given us as we raise our children. Let us be good and faithful stewards over them. Amen.
