“It causes me anxiety to know that something I say or don’t say, or something I do or don’t do, might affect her life. But God knows her better than I do.”

“Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.” Psalm 139:16
I’ve been struggling a lot lately with my eleven-year-old daughter. Not because of anything she’s doing, unless you count growing up as “doing”.
She’s my oldest child, she’s a girl, she has a sensitive heart and wants to do everything right. It’s a struggle for me to know how to parent her. It causes me anxiety to know that something I say or don’t say, or something I do or don’t do, might affect her life.
But God knows her better than I do.
God has already written her days, formed specifically for her. He saw her, unformed, and knew who she was going to be.
Her entire life is in the hands of her Creator. Nothing she does, or I do, will be a surprise to Him. He has a plan, and He’s not going to stray from it. For that reason, I can go from anxiety to peace, knowing He is the one who is in control.
Action Steps:
What anxiety are you struggling with right now? How does knowing that God has already written your days give you peace?
Gratefulness and reflection can be such powerful tools. Remind yourself how God has gotten you through difficult times in the past. Doing this can help ease anxiety by enabling you to trust God better.

Prayer: God, You have a good plan for my life, and for that I’m so grateful. You have a plan for my children, and I know all Your plans are better than any plans I could make. Align my heart, my mind and my plans with Yours. In Your MIGHTY name I pray, amen.
