“We need Jesus to be there with us in all of motherhood’s moments but it makes it even better when we have a friend there too.”

“For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”
Matthew 18:20 ESV
What if we did motherhood together? What if instead of spending our mornings alone in our houses doing laundry and tidying toys, we invited a friend over to be there with us? I know that sounds silly.
“Really Cathrine? Are you going to come over and sit in my kitchen while I do dishes?”
Yes! Let’s do it! I’ll dry! The kiddos can play and destroy your living room while we put on worship music and talk about how much we need Jesus to help us make it to bed time. We can pray together and when I leave we’ll both feel so full, filled with God’s love and love for each other.
Here’s the best part. JESUS WILL BE THERE TOO! In the passage that our verse comes from Jesus is asking for unity between friends. At the end he says if we gather in His name He will be there among us. SO AMAZING!
When Jesus is with us He brings…
Supernatural peace
His love, pouring into us so that it overflows out of us
His strength
A reminder that we don’t have to be the perfect mom because it’s God that defines us, not this world
... and so much more!
I need all these things in my day and I’m guessing you do too. We need Jesus to be there with us in all of motherhood’s moments but it makes it even better when we have a friend there too. I’m praying for you right now, that you have Godly friends in your life and that you let them and Jesus in.
Action Step:
Copy and paste this into a text to your mom bestie: Hey! I’ve got coffee and cookies. Want to come over and let the kids play while I fold laundry? I’ll put on worship music and we can talk about what Jesus is putting on our hearts this week. I promise you don’t have to help me fold my underwear!
