“The story of God’s grace, love and provision in YOUR life won’t be ethereal but will become a part of their foundation.”

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story - those he redeemed from the hand of the foe,” Psalm 107:1-2 NIV
Have you ever told your kids your “story”? Maybe they’re a bit too young for some of the details, but I’d venture to say there are nuggets appropriate for every age in there. We hear a lot about sharing our story with strangers at the store or the new mom at play group, but what about our kids? If we ever wanted to find a group that would see God's faithfulness in our lives for what it is, it would be our kids. The story of God's faithfulness will hit different for them, deeper… because you’re their momma. The story of God’s grace, love and provision in YOUR life won’t be ethereal but will become a part of their foundation. The living breathing proof of it is living for them every day, loving how she’s been loved, caring how she’s been cared for, encouraging how she’s been encouraged.
The unexpected side effect of sharing your story with your kids will be the gift that remembering His faithfulness brings: it will encourage your heart as it encourages theirs. I’ve seen it in my own life. So, momma, today, tell your story to your kids. Encourage their hearts with God's faithfulness, and in doing so, encourage your own. Make much of the name of Jesus in your own home. Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever.
Action Steps:
Decide what parts, short or long, of your story you want to share with your children, and do it today.
Allow your story to encourage your faith as it encourages your children.
