“With godly confidence, we KNOW what God has done for us, what He will continue to do for us, and how He views us.”

“Doesn’t your reverence for God give you confidence?” Job 4:6 NLT
Moms, how do we build confidence in our children? Not self-confidence, but a confidence built on the truth of who they are in Christ Jesus. Godly confidence.
Our verse today says that confidence can come from reverence for God. Reverence for God, or as some translations say, fear of God, is a deep respect, an understanding of who God is and what He’s done in our lives. It’s recognizing God’s authority and worshiping Him for all that He is. And it leads us to godly confidence.
With godly confidence, we KNOW what God has done for us, what He will continue to do for us, and how He views us. We know who we are in His eyes, so that when the world tells us something different, we know the truth.
Mommas, our kids need that too, because godly confidence results in children who lean on God, time and time again. Godly confidence leads to going to the Word for answers instead of the world. The world will only give them temporary answers, even lies sometimes. The Word gives our children truth about God and truth about who they are.
We have a huge job to do, teaching our children all the things they need to succeed in life, all while leading them to Jesus. Building godly confidence is no less important than any of the rest. I encourage you, today, to reflect on this. Have you been fostering godly confidence in your children? Have you been teaching your children reverence for God?
Action Steps:
Model this. Spend time working on YOUR reverence for God, YOUR godly confidence, and allowing your children to see this in you. Do they see you praising God and seeking Him constantly, or do they see a mom who goes to the world for help?
Help your children build their reverence for God. Spend time having conversations with your children about all that God has done in their lives. Point out times when prayers have been answered. Help them live with God as the ultimate authority in their lives.
