I Am Doing a New Thing

“He is leading the way for us, creating new opportunities for joy, connection, and growth.”

"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV)

As we stand on the threshold of a new year, it’s a beautiful time for reflection and renewal. For many moms, this transition is not just about making resolutions; it's an opportunity to embrace fresh beginnings, both for ourselves and our families. In the middle of our busy lives filled with the demands of parenting, it’s important to remember the grace and strength that God provides us.

Today’s verse speaks directly to our hearts as mothers. It encourages us to let go of past mistakes, regrets, and burdens that may weigh us down. Instead, we are encouraged to open our hearts to the new possibilities that are ahead.

As we start this new year, consider setting intentions that line up with your values and desires as a mom. Perhaps it's nurturing your own spiritual growth, spending more quality time with your children, or even finding moments for self-care. Each of these intentions can lead to a more fulfilling journey. Remember, you are not alone in this journey. God is constantly at work in our lives, even when we can’t see it. He is leading the way for us, creating new opportunities for joy, connection, and growth. As you go through the challenges and blessings of motherhood, lean into His promises.

Let the new year be one of change. Embrace the new things God is doing in your life and family. With each day, take a moment to reflect, pray, and seek His guidance. Trust that the best is yet to come, and allow His light to shine through you as a mom, nurturing not just your children but also your own spirit.

Action Steps

  • Take some time to write down goals you would like to achieve this year as a mom.  These could be related to your family, personal growth, or spiritual development. Make them practical so you can track your progress throughout the year.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, as I step into this new year, I thank You for the gift of motherhood and the opportunities that lie ahead. Help me let go of the past and embrace the new things You are doing in my life and in my family. Grant me wisdom and strength to achieve my goals and nurture my spirit. May Your love shine through me, guiding my children and bringing joy to our home. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen
