“Every step of obedience gives God a chance to come through for us. Every cry, every request, gives Him a chance to provide.”

“So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.” Romans 10:17 NLT
In this context, having faith really just means we trust God. In order to trust God, we need to get to know Him and His character. As with any relationship, words are a huge part of this, as a person's words reveal so much about them.
The Good News about Christ, and indeed all of scripture, reveals to us who God is and how He has related to His people throughout history. We have story after story after story to show us His faithfulness: the birth of Isaac, the food and water the Israelites received in the wilderness, the mercy and forgiveness extended every time God's people repented of their wickedness, and countless others. Many times things in scripture happened “just as the Lord said”.
Even more than just reading these stories, we have the opportunity to see God's faithfulness at work in our own lives. Every step of obedience gives God a chance to come through for us. Every cry, every request, gives Him a chance to provide. When we read and hear about God's faithfulness and then see it in our own lives, our faith is solidified and continues to grow. So mommas, keep hearing, keep seeking, and keep growing.
Action steps:
Be purposed to take in the Word of God, whether by reading or listening.
Remind yourself of the times God has come through for you and shown Himself faithful in your life.
Prayer: God, thank You for Your words and the records we have of Your faithfulness and character. Thank You for remaining the same and never abandoning us. May our faith and confidence in You continue to grow and be the driving force of our lives. Amen.
