Good In The Bad

“God will take your situation and what you’ve been through and turn it into something good for the kingdom of heaven.”

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 ESV
Chances are you’ve had something bad happen in your life.
When something bad happens it makes life so difficult. The emotional strain, the physical stress is so hard to bear. Sometimes we’re not even sure if we can go on.
We live in a world broken by sin and suffering and bad things are a reality we live with. But there is good news! There is hope for us in our suffering. God has a plan. Everything you’ve gone through will be turned into good, because you are a woman of God. He has a plan and a purpose for your life and your suffering is not a surprise to Him.
I know that can be difficult to hear. How can losing a dear loved one be good? How can a negative health report be turned good? How can so much tragedy in the world be good?
Honestly, I don’t know. I don’t know how your specific situation can be made good, and it’s possible that you may not see the good in your lifetime. But God knows. In our verse today, Paul says that for those who love God, everything works together for good. God will take your situation and what you’ve been through and turn it into something good for the kingdom of heaven.
I’ve seen the loss of a child turn into loved ones finding Jesus.
I’ve seen a family able to use money raised during their tragedy to generously donate safe playground equipment that will be used for years to come.
I’ve seen whole communities band together in unity after tragedy has struck.
Negative health reports and traumatic experiences can lead us straight into the arms of Jesus.
Sharing stories of suffering gives hope to others going through the same thing. Every time you share your story and what God has done through that story, you’re sharing the love of God with someone who desperately needs to hear it.
And remember, you’re not alone. You have a God who loves you and will provide supernatural peace in your time of need. Call out to Him and feel the arms of Jesus surround you.
Action Steps:
Reflect: What can you add to my list of examples of suffering turning into good? What has God done in your life, working for good for His kingdom?
