Wisdom Is God’s Path

“No matter the age, children will turn to us for guidance, and as they do, let’s show them how we turn to our loving Father to show us the way.”

“Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. Search for them as you would search for silver; seek them like hidden treasures.” Proverbs 2:3-4 NLT

Do you find yourself wondering what God wants for you in this season? How does He want you to lead your children in these days ahead? What examples and lessons should we show them and ourselves to get us through this month, this week, or even just today?

He wants us to just ask. That’s it! It’s really that simple.

He wants us to ask for His wisdom and His understanding. When you read further in Proverbs 2, it says, “Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God. For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity. He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him.

I have one life, one chance, and I don’t want to go through this journey without the help of God. I want to seek Him in every choice, every decision I make. I want His guidance in it all! I’ve tried doing it myself and I know how complicated that can be. I’ve also tried His way and I know that when I allow Him into the situation it goes smoother. It may not always be easy, but it’s less messy.

This is the path we should also take in raising our children. From day one, we should be asking Him for wisdom while raising each one of our babies. But it’s not easy to be faithfully consistent in seeking God in all ways of raising kids. Thank You, Jesus, for Your grace! We can start today in asking Him for His wisdom and understanding for each child.

No matter the age, children will turn to us for guidance, and as they do, let’s show them how we turn to our loving Father to show us the way. Let’s seek Him together, hand in hand, and be obedient in what He is showing us.

Let’s strive for His ways, because they really are better.

Let’s take a moment to:

  • Read Proverbs 2

  • Reflect and pray, ask God for His wisdom, His knowledge and His understanding

  • Listen to “Make Room” by Kim Walker Smith and allow God to take control

Let’s Pray: Heavenly and Gracious Father, We thank You for the gifts of wisdom, knowledge and understanding. We ask that You show us Your ways as we lay down our ways. Lead us and guide us in all we do, especially in the ways we raise our families. We release them to You every morning and welcome You to show us how to guide them that day. You are all we want and desire. In Jesus name, Amen!
