“The gates are open and praise is how we get in. We get to bless Him with thankfulness because He loves us, all of us!”

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name.” Psalms 100:4 NLT
When I was a kid, I grew up memorizing Psalms 100, known as “A psalm of thanksgiving”, at the Christian schools I attended. I love some key phrases here: “Shout with joy”, “worship the Lord with gladness”, “He made us, we are His”, “Give thanks to him and praise his name”, “For the Lord is good”. I recently looked it up in The Passion Translation (TPT) and verse 4 says “You can pass through his open gates with the password of praise. Come right into his presence with thanksgiving. Come bring your thank offering to him and affectionately bless his beautiful name!”
As I pause and let that sink in, I think how no matter what is going on around us and in our lives, He wants us to just come to Him. The gates are open and praise is how we get in. We get to bless Him with thankfulness because He loves us, all of us! Let’s enter this season with a posture of praise, a heart of gratitude, and shouts of joy! He is a good, good God, and He keeps His promises to every generation!
Maybe you’ve heard or even participated in a '30 days of thanks' in some sort of way. I have on social media in years past, and honestly I love seeing the memories and being reminded of the things and people I’ve been grateful for in those seasons of my life. The reflection of God’s goodness. As we begin the week of Thanksgiving, what if we take a small moment every day to reflect on the things we are thankful for? What if we pull the kids together with us and have them reflect on the things they are thankful for also? At the end of every week, month or even year, let’s take time to read and reflect on all the ways God is working and blessing our lives.
Take a moment to:
Reflect and maybe even write out some things you are thankful for
Prayer: Father, we praise You. You truly are so good. We thank You for all that You have blessed us with. May we never grow tired of giving You the thanks that You deserve. We thank You for Your unconditional love and everlasting promises. We love You, Father. Amen.
